Hello, I Was wondering if you could help me with some suggestions of a good mp3 players. PLEASE NO APPLE DEVICES.

I'm looking for an mp3 player that supports the following audio formats:

  • mp3
  • wma
  • secure wma
  • flac
  • wav

The more audio formats it supports the better, But the ones I listed are a must!

It doesn't have to have a large screen, I don't need and dont want any wifi or bluetooth connectivity. The storage must be at least 4GB with an option to upgrade with a micro SD card.

I currently have SanDisk Sansa e250. I've had it for 5 or 6 years now and It still works well, but has no support for flac :/. So if you know of any mp3 like the SanDisk Sansa e250 that also supports flac and has the specs i need please help.

No budget?

Then don't stop at middle ranges, go for this: http://www.amazon.com/Astell-Kern-AK240-64GB-Connection/dp/B00K3SXRNG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1401023488&sr=8-2&keywords=ak240

- 256GB internal, expandable to 384GB

- Dual DAC chip

- Native DSD player

It's the Rolls Royce of portable media players.....

Definitely look at Sansa Clip Zip. I have one and they're amazing. Basically the same internals of a Clip+ but has a much nicer screen. I believe it supports FLACs (I assume the rest as well) out of the box, however I'd still put Rockbox on it. With Rockbox it will pretty much do whatever you want it to. I know it comes in 4 and 8 GB versions, and they do support up to 64 GB (I think) micro SD cards. http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Full-Color-MicroSDHC-Stopwatch--SDMX22-004G-A57K/dp/B005FVNGRS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401025719&sr=8-1&keywords=sansa+clip+zip

It's around $30 on Amazon, if you look around you can probably find a better deal. I got mine on Ebay refurbished with an 8 GB SD card for $25.

Edit: From Sandisk's site: "Supports MP3, WMA, secure WMA, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, Audiobooks, Podcasts, and AAC compatible (DRM-free iTunes)" I imagine with RockBox it will support WAV as well.

First of all, I asked that it has no WiFi and no BT connections which this one has. Secondly......even if i had that kind of money to spend i d never spend it on an mp3 player. I don't even get it how can an mp3 player be so expensive. I guess my budget would be up to 150€. That should be more than enough for a great quality mp3 player. And i dont need any additional sd cards. I allready have 32GB SanDisk Extreme :) .

Well, it's a native DSD format portable player. There aren't many portable players that have the 'oomph' to decode and play DSD natively. As for DSD itself, paired with good IEM or headphone, it's pure bliss, that's all I can say, you just have to try it yourself to appreciate it. The fact is it still sells, so there are people who deemed it worth the price. With no budget mentioned in your original post, I thought you might be one of those people....

Now that there's a budget, Cowon products got good price vs performance value, and I read good reviews on Fiio X3.
