Did you install the drivers for the TM Warthog and do the buttons and Axis work correctly in Windows joystick properties?

Make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your device.

Does the PC restart just from plugging the HOTAS in or does it only crash When you launch MechWarrior?

If it crashed any time you plug in into the PC:

Are you plugging the HOTAS directly into the PC or into a USB Hub?

Too much current draw on an unpowered Hub or a pinched wire in the HOTAS could cause a short and a PC Crash.

If the Mech is moving by it's self with the HOTAS plugged in, check your axis binging  in game and make sure each axis is bound to the correct input (Thottle, Pitch, torso twist etc..) and that nothing is double bound to multiple axis. Don't assume what the game sets up as default for controller mappings is correct.
