Looking for new monitor

stevvenson

I'm thinking of getting a new monitor, for my circumstances it can only be MSI strictly. I am between the g274qpx and for a bigger size the MAG 325CQRXF 31.5" but I never had a VA panel before and I'm a bit reluctant, does anyone have what MSI calls a rapid VA panel and does it eliminate the negatives of the VA? also I heard that 16:9 AR isn't great for a curved display (never had one before).  I play in 1440p and I'm kinda worried that 31.5" will look blurry because I don't have a big desk and I sit quite close to the screen.

I find 1440p to be blurry on 27-inch screens. I would be miserable if I used a 32-inch 1440p monitor for work...

I have the Samsung Neo G8 which is a curved 4K 32-inch VA monitor and I like it a lot. I have a 32-inch flatscreen at work and I am very much less happy compared to having a curved screen.

I play Helldivers 2 at 1440p on my 32-inch and I don't notice anything blurry.

31.5 inch 1440p would have similar PPI to 24 inch 1080p, so it depends if you find that blurry too.

I managed to find a review of a monitor with rapid VA, from what I understand it has fast response time but still has a bit of dark level smearing. Idk why colour coverage is below average though.

I still think IPS is safer option, although rapid VA may be okay if you really want better contrast ratio.

Optix with the uh... call Panda (LG) Fast IPS stuff panel, 24 inches.

If you want 27, they make versions of it there as well. Either that or an uhm, Innolux. Gigabyte is the company that sells Innolux panels, though.
