is it normal that i can only charge my devices with ~300-500mA from that board no matter which usb port i use?

with the same cable/devices i reach ~2A from the wall.

That's normal for standard (not PD or High Current capable) USB ports.

hi,

is it normal that i can only charge my devices with ~300-500mA from that board no matter which usb port i use?

with the same cable/devices i reach ~2A from the wall.

the gigabyte support wasnt really helpful (maybe i shouldnt have contacted them in german). first they sent me this link and ignored what it says right in that link "But it's important to remember that the charging standards a port supports and the USB version number are not necessarily related."

After some more messages which were lost in translation or by their supportAI hallucinating. the best one was that i "should stop charging my phone from the usb2 port with 2A cause it is way to much and will break the board" cause i said "i can charge those devices from the wall power outlet with 2A" to clarify that it was not the cable/devices ... i really love those support experiences 😕

their answer was (and i dont know why that one was in english) "USB protocol standards cannot be equated to the power supply of cell phone via USB charging. We can’t officially support it."

can anyone with the same/a similar board tell me if the slow charging speeds are my fault or if it is normal with that board? and can i charge my mobile devices from the board even if it is not "officially supported" or will i void the warranty? (this one is a rhetorical question, i hope)

Are you saying the USB ports on your motherboard are slower than your phone charger?

USB3.2 Gen2 and pretty much everything else your board has is not PD capable or high current compatible.

Yeah a power brick will be able to deliver more power than a USB port, unless it is PD
