Which PSU is most reliable and has best ATX 3.x/PCIe 5.x support?

stratex

I'm currently in the process of building a PC with the following specs:

  • Intel 14900KS

  • MSI 4090 Suprim x

  • MSI MEG Z790 ACE

I am looking for a PSU which can comfortably handle these components with potential for some upgradability. I am pretty limited on which PSU's I have available to purchase in-stock and have narrowed it down to the following PSU's from the PSU tier list:

  • be quiet! Dark Power Pro 13 1300W or 1600W

  • Corsair RM1200x Shift

  • NZXT C series 1200W Gold

  • FSP Hydro PTM Pro 1200W

Budget isn't too much of a concern. I am primarily looking for which unit would be the most reliable long-term and has the best ATX 3.x/PCIe 5.x support. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Newegg Canada was blowing out those FSP for less than or about half price iirc. I almost bought one, but they did not restock. So out of that list that leaves the BQ and Corsair.. I would go with the BQ.

AMD R7 5800X3D | Thermalright Frost Commander 140, TY-143
Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z @ 3733C14
Zotac 4070 Ti Trinity OC @ 3045/1495 | WD SN850, SN850X, SN770
Seasonic Vertex GX-1000 | Fractal Torrent Compact RGB, Many CFM's

I have been using a Corsair RM1000x for a little over a year now and haven't had any problems whatsoever so I would have to vote for the Corsair IMHO.

Take care and good luck.

Thanks for this. The chart doesn't include the Dark Power Pro 13, so I'm unsure where it would fit in with the rest of the units.

Check the >1250w chart of the source.
