hey guys,

So I'm thinking about making the jump from amd to intel and i'm pretty much set on getting a i7 4770k but of course I need to buy a new motherboard. I have around £190-220 to spend and would really like some recommendations.

What have you used and liked?

This is the one that's stood out so far for me: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-607-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=2811

Thanks guys!

If you don't need any special features, pretty much any 1150 zX7 motherboard will do.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I second this.

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

ah okay!

Any specific suggestions?

If it's purely for gaming with an overclock I'd recommend the Z97 MPower non ac or the ac model. Gigabyte Z97X-soc?

Yeah it's for gaming with oc and running 3-4 monitors at a time (obviously through the gpu haha)

Thanks for the speedy responses guys!

If you don't plan on doing balls to the wall oc (anything 4.5ghz above),you get can just get a normal decent motherboard. Even a 70pound gigabyte motherboard can achieve that kind of oc just fine. You don't need to spend that much on a motherboard UNLESS you REALLY need a certain feature on it or you just prefer the look of it (which is not a smart buy imo). Motherboards, they either work or they don't. No increase in gaming performance whatsoever.

Spend that extra money and upgrade your other pc components or treat yourself to a nice dinner or movies.

I'd get a 1440p vs triple screen 1080p
