LabelFlash drive software

Curious about LabelFlash and DiscT@2, I purchased a TS-L633 optical drive which should be compatible with the LabelFlash technology. However, starting the official Labelflash Index Maker throws the error message "LabelFlash Drive Not Found". Optical drive is showing in Device Manager and it will successfully burn a disc, so it works correctly.

I would like to use this small free utility instead of paying for third-party software or installing OEM bloatware.

Any clue what the issue might be? Bit of a long shot because I am one of the four people ever to own a LabelFlash drive, it seems. 

Could the issue be Windows 10? Evidently some people have had issues getting this drive recognized at all in W10 so I am a bit suspicious that the OS is the issue.
