Mini Server Build Help

Budget (including currency): About $550 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs, or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly coding, compiling, website hosting, and storage.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I have chosen most of the parts already, but I wanted help with a few things. First off is the CPU. I was thinking of an intel core i9-9400, but I wanted to ask you guys because you have more experience with this sort of thing. Finally, the case. I am looking for one with an ATX profile, NO RGB LIGHTS or other fancy gamer stuff, and lots of HDD mounts (I have lots of 1 TB or more HDDs lying around.) Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

What parts have you chosen? What parts do you already own?

9400 is a odd choice if you don't have other parts already or are getting it really cheap.

Heavy emphasis on this. For just individual web hosting and storage, you dont need a lot of computing power. Jeff Geerling even only uses cluster of Raspberry Pi to host almost everything online that he has.

I will also be compiling code and programing.

I do not have any parts yet. What CPU would you recommend then?

13600k for igpu, 32gb ram, boot of the ssd and use your hard drives for storage.

the 13600k will handle anything twice as well as a 9400 and has efficiency cores
