Thoughts on this Build

It needs a PSU. Ideally an 850W ATX 3.0 compliant model with native support for the 12VHPWR connector used by the GPU.

If one is going to use an AIO for CPU cooling I'd suggest at least a 280 but preferably a 360.

Not knowing any of the information asked for in

It's pretty difficult to comment further.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

I'm assuming they'd use their current one given it's decent, they can use the adapter if so

A PSU is not mentioned in the OP and isn't in the build list.

Pcpartpicker lists 4 80+ Platinum 850W EVGA PSU models. If it's more than 6 years old you may want to consider replacing it.

how would they be using a pc without a psu? I know we have to ask before to see if it's able to use in the new pc but it's worth an ask

Hello

I think the build looks good. It's strong sides are that you will be able to uppgrade without switching motherboard to an Intel 14000 down the line. I'm not so sure about if you can uppgrade the GPU tho. I would perosnally not go Nvidia and instead AMD because they usually have better performance for the money. You could replace it with for example a card around the 600 dollar budget: ASUS 7900 GRE Dual. A little more for the price. Good luck!

And all the PSUs that meet that criteria have 10 year warranties

EVGA - Products - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P2, 80+ PLATINUM 850W, Fully Modular , EVGA ECO Mode, 10 Year Warranty , Includes FREE Power On Self Tester Power Supply 220-P2-0850-X1 - 220-P2-0850-X1

EVGA - Product Specs - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 PQ, 80 Plus PLATINUM 850W, Semi Modular, EVGA ECO Mode, 10 Year Warranty, Power Supply 210-PQ-0850-X1

EVGA - Products - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P6, 80 Plus Platinum 850W, Fully Modular, Eco Mode with FDB Fan, 10 Year Warranty, Includes Power ON Self Tester, Compact 140mm Size, Power Supply 220-P6-0850-X1 - 220-P6-0850-X1

EVGA - Products - EVGA SuperNOVA 850 P5, 80 Plus Platinum 850W, Fully Modular, Eco Mode with FDB Fan, 10 Year Warranty, Includes Power ON Self Tester, Compact 150mm Size, Power Supply 220-P5-0850-X1 - 220-P5-0850-X1

1070 is pushing 8 years with the 7700k just breaking 7. The P2 and the P6 are both easily in the warranty date (first released in 2016, second in 2021) Seems that the PQ and P5 are both in that as well but I haven't found much evidence behind that (PQ photo from 4 years ago was uploaded to newegg and P5 was first uploaded to amazon.com around 2021)

My PSU hasnt seen heavy usage mostly been using this machine as a workstation when I was Working from home I plan to move it to the new build with a 4070 Super I think the 240M fans will be fine in that case there is a ton of airflow nothing to suggest that it wont do a good job of keeping things cool underload if the Cooler is mounted tubes down

Or just look at my build above for better price to performance
