Most common solution is turn off hardware acceleration

If you use thorium that's known to be the source of this as well. Switching to Edge or Chrome fixes it.

Any time I play a game and my browser is open and playing a video, it results in the video basically freezing and not playing until I alt tab off of the game and make the video the priority. The only way to solve this is to disable Hardware acceleration, but that gets rid of WebGL on my browser, which restricts my ability to use certain things I need like Flightradar24 or Google Earth.

Drivers are all up to date.

Specs:

- RTX 3060 12G

- i3-12100F on an MSI B660M-A Pro (BIOS date 2023-09-14, a few versions behind https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-DDR4/support)

- 2x16 3200mhz DDR4

- RM850x

Running Windows 11 Pro Insider Beta latest build

Which codec is the video using? You can see by right click > stats for nerds. Which web browser are you using? You might just use the standard Windows 11 build rather than beta. When did this problem start? You can try one thing that would be to set the highest priority of your web browser (choose the correct process or select all processes) in task manager.

Microsoft owns my soul.

Also, Dell is evil, but HP kinda nice.

video/mp4;codecs=avc1.4d0028 (avchigh), Arc for Windows, and it's been a problem for as long as I can remember, even across different Windows versions. Not an insider problem either, as it's present on the standard branch for me as well. Also was a problem back on Win10. And unless I'm targeting the wrong process (I just picked the one with the most dedicated GPU usage), changing priority didn't help

That seems to have worked, but only if the game I'm running is in borderless windowed. I tried with ETS2 and because it's in fullscreen (No clue how to go out of fullscreen and into borderless windowed on there), it has the same issue and makes the video freeze

Which exact RTX 3060? Latest vBios on it? Resizable BAR enabled in the Bios? DirectX updated using DxWebSetup?

Don't run insider builds if you want things to have a better chance of working.

Not an insider build problem. It happened even before I started insider builds.

Just checked it, and Resizable BAR is enabled, and I can't update DirectX because I have the latest version.

Just try at least. No point in not. They could have released a non-beta build that fixes it you never know. And from experience beta builds beat the crap out of my laptop and make it see the after-life so I never have tried it again.

That'd mean reinstalling Windows. And that'd mean reinstalling all my apps. (And also wouldn't solve the problem as I recently had to reinstall Windows and was on the default build and the exact same issue happened there too)

It's been like this for as long as I can remember

Plus I'd go right back to the insider build as I like the early feature drops like the phone as webcam. I can live with the occasional GSOD if it means I get the cool features early

If you use release preview or beta channel, you don't have to delete anything. If you use Dev channel, you need a clean install for downgrade. in order to downgrade from an insider Dev build which has a higher version of Windows, to the stable build which has lower version, you do need to clean install Windows.

It'd either take a few weeks or months to not be on it or I'd have to do that

It was a pain in the ass to reinstall all my stuff last time and it took three days, I'd rather not have to go through all that again now that I'm finally back at a proper setup with all the stuff I want and need

Out of space to make a backup on basically anything unless I wanna spend like 12 hours waiting for the backup to complete on my HDD (heaven forbid something interrupts that)
