My tower is 5m away from where i sit (no option) i am currently using 5m usb repeater Cables x3 1 going into an ANKER 7-Port USB-A 3.0 Hub with Charging.

I have 16K Fiber Optic DisplayPort 2.1 Cable 5M, DP 2.1 Cable[16K@30Hz, 8K@60Hz, 4K@240Hz], on order

I was wondering if was the best way to run the cables or would Thunderbolt be better i have never used it but it maby will be better for input lag and cable tidying as currently it looks a huge mess

If so can you recomend a thunderbolt setup i would need

Thanks

I don't see why you can't use this. 5m is perfectly fine for DP or HDMI (definitely the newer specs)
If it was something like 25m or more then thunderbolt would make more sense

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

I think what you might be looking for is a KVM Extender, you can get the in Fiber or IP with IR.

will that reduce input lag?

Many companies claim their KVM Extender can transmit 4K UHD video with nearly zero latency. I have never used them for personal use, only at work, so I can't tell you for certain if that's true but I'd imagine a good extender will only introduce about 1-2ms of latency.
