HDMI out to SCART in

I have an old 36" Panasonic CRT and I want to get my Chromecast and spare PC hooked up to it however the only inputs on said tv are SCART and AVI. I brought a SCART to HDMI cable and even an AVI to HDMI cable but neither of them work the other way round as they are all made to take an old DVD or VHS player and make them work with modern tv's that only have HDMI. But the thing is I've seen some videos of people using these types of cables the other way round but so far I've had no luck. So could anyone recommend either an HDMI to SCART or AVI cable that would allow it to work in my setup? Thanks!

SCART has analogue signals , HDMI is digital.

 

You need a HDMI to Svideo / composite or VGA  converter and then you can use a Svideo or Composite to SCART, or VGA to scart.
