AW3420DW Alienware Dead LED

jyst4fyn

Hello!

Not very good with displays. I have a Alienware aw3420dw monitor with an unlit corner (almost exactly 1/4 of the monitor) on the bottom right hand side.

Unfortunately, warranty expired Nov/23. Is this something repairable by local PC shops and something like Canada Computers? Or definitely Dell only?

Thanks!

Contact Dell support regardless. Nothing we can do and you never know, you might get lucky. Otherwise you replace it or live with it.

Welcome to the forums!

oooofta, that looks like a dead panel in the backlight.
skimming through the Dell teardown manual (mad props to Dell for publishing this), it looks like the backlight is integrated into the panel. You're probably stuck trying to beg an RMA off them (be kind, calm, and understanding) or get lucky with a local who has different hardware problem.
If the RMA fails, I'd try futzing with the brightness up and down and maybe a bit of percussive maintenance to see if you can resuscitate it.
