Screen turns black then static then normal

Socker

Hey there,
I built my first pc and ever since this has happened about 5-6 times..I dont know what the cause it but my screen just randomly turns black for like 2-3s then it turns static for the same amount and then its all back to normal. I do get the feeling that the period it goes black and static for is getting longer and longer. I did update my drivers again and this keeps happening.
In case it helps...I have a RX 6800 and a 5 7600x

Welcome to the forums!
Specs of the PC? What monitor?
I'd suspect a bad cable for this

Hi buddy,

As @OddOod suggested, probably a bad cable but to make sure its not anything more sinister, the next time it happens, open the Windows Event Viewer, navigate to Windows Logs > System and just make sure there's no entries detailing an issue with your display driver crashing then recovering. I'm not sure how this is reported with the AMD driver as I'm an Nvidia man but it should be pretty easy to spot.

Try a different cable and / or try using a different DP or HDMI port on the the GPU.

Problem still remains if i use DP now.

Are you plugging into the graphics card or near the usb ports on the I/O?

Does your TV have a PC option for the inputs?
