Hey guys I'm new to this forum but I needed help on my build and I thought this would be the best place to get it (btw I done even know if I can post here but oh well xD). So I was doing a desk case mod and I ran into an issue. I cut out my fan and radiator holes in the side panels of my desk and mounted them, and everything was fine up until I realized that I had about a two foot tube running all the way across the desk. I was wondering if this could cause any kind of issue? It is slacking in the center and my computer runs fine but idk. I was looking into getting new fittings and maybe doing acrylic tubing, but it looks pretty expensive. Also, any ideas on how to mount my motherboard to the desk without drilling into it? (Btw the pictures were obviously taken at different times and the desk is almost finished as of now) Thanks in advance!

Don't worry @Maxfire123 I can get a mod to move it to the correc area. @WoodenMarker could you please arrange this thread to be moved from the general discussion to watercooling. all I can say is in the middle (stating the obvious) that is a waste of  space.

Would you mind posting a spec, list so we know what'd we are dealing with

Ok I don't know exact answers right now as it's late and I would have to check, but here's what I've got off the top of my head:

Intel core i7 quad core hyper threaded CPU (Slightly overclocked)

Amd radeon 6950 GPU (Slightly overclocked)

Asus p6t deluxe v2 motherboard

1000w power supply

Xspc three 120mm fan radiator

The amount of coolant required to keep passing through the length of tubing/the entire series might be an issue.

Will you be adding a graphics card with a waterblock on it?

seems like there isn't much other methods to secure the motherboard in without drilling it in and screwing in the standoffs. 360mm radiator cooling only a slightly overclocked isn't taking advantage of the cooling potential.

can you just put some two way tape under the board to fasten it to the desk? a small square at each corner would suffice.

you could also cut out a motherboard tray from an old case, fasten the tray to the desk with 2way tape and simply screw the board to the standoffs on the tray. if heights match up that is.

the sag in the tube is ok and will not effect flow rate or performance. you may want to change the reservoir position. instead of having it in the pump run, re route it between the rad and cpu block and eliminate that long ass saggy pipe :)

Sure.

For future reference, just report the thread and ask for it to be moved and the report will be seen by whichever mod happens to get to it first.

I am planning to add my gpu to the loop, but not anytime soon. And yeah, I know the radiator is a little overkill but even with it I am still running at about 45 Celsius. However, due to the location of the res, bubbles constantly form inside of it and create a sort of foam that might be the cause of the higher temps.

I have tried using double sided tape, but whenever I tried to plug something in the back, it would slide off or unstick the tape. I even tried liquid nailing each standoff but that turned out to be way harder than it sounds and I decided to leave that alone. The motherboard tray sounds interesting though and I'll check that out today, thanks.
