well for the 6700xt I was looking at this one which is about $400

I'd rule that out immediately, $400 is a bad price for a 6700 XT. 67x0 XT should be priced around $300-$350.

380 is a good price. The 7700 XT is starting to come down to around 400, but I'd probably still take the 6800.

Not a bad price, but you can get a 7800 XT under $500 now, so it really shouldn't cost more than $450.

Overall, I'd say the 6800 non-XT at 380 is the best deal there.

If the 650 is a decent one I'd just try it with the 6800 non-XT. You may find it is fine and doesn't need upgrading.

My resolution for Minecraft is 1920x1080 and low and medium settings, on Fortnite i use 1560x1080 on low-medium, on CSGO I use 1440x1080 with low-high settings.

Hmm, my knowledge of these games is not great, but my guess is that:

Minecraft - will be CPU bound with a 6800 @ 1920x1080p/Low

Fortnite - will be CPU bound with a 6800 @ 1560x1080p/Low

CS:GO - will be CPU bound with a 6800 @ 1440x1080/Low

So I've basically already decided on the 6800 but I wanted to hear what some of you guys think and if maybe I should go for the 6800xt instead and or if the 6700XT and 6800 are so comparable it that I should go with the cheaper one. As far as I know the 6800 is better than the 6700XT by quite a bit.

With no prices or knowing what you're using it for, it is hard to answer this question.

If you mean prices as in budget than its about 450$ but if the 6800xt is worth the extra money I wouldn't mind paying more. and for the second statement my title kind of tells you but I play R6, Fortnite, Minecraft, and CSGO competitively.

What resolution and settings? When you're competitive gaming it is important to consider how likely you are to max out the GPU and that's probably possible in those games even when using a RX 6700 XT or RX 6800, at which point you'd need to consider your CPU and RAM. I haven't got the knowledge of competitive high refresh gaming to tell you @ exactly which point those games are likely to be CPU-bound.

Your budget matters, sure, but I meant the prices of the cards you're looking at. TPU's database has the 6800 XT as 14% faster, so purely from a price/perf perspective, I'd buy the XT if it is close to that price, or cheaper. If you PSU is borderline, then the 6800 does use less power (at least, at stock).

Idk why but I cant find one for that price so that's the only reason I ever saw one for 400.

Is the 7700 XT any better than the 6800 that u would still recommend the 6800 over the 7700 XT?

Oh, well is the 7800 XT that much better that it makes the price bad for the 6800 XT?

Ok thanks but I'm still curious about the 7700 XT with it being close in price and why you'd still chose the 6800 over the 7700 XT.

that's good to know, I'm probably still going to end up upgrading it anyways soon bc I don't want to have insufficient power when I upgrade other parts yk?

Minecraft is cpu bound yes, and yes those are the setting I use, I get around 600 fps normally but 144 or 200
Fortnite is said to be cpu bound but its actually pretty even of both sides between gpu and cpu, and yes I get around 200 fps but in intense situations I get around 100.
CS is very cpu bound and I get around 244-300 fps with those settings.

The 6800 has more VRAM, a bigger bus and more shaders, so it can pull ahead in some circumstances, especially at 4K, but the 7700 does have some features the 6800 doesn't have and it is possible this difference will be more important in the future (the lack of AI cores, for example, since AMD have said they're likely to introduce AI into their FSR tech).

No, it isn't, but the same applies as I said above, the newer features might be more important in the future.
