gpu die working or not?

That is a shattered die.

It is not going to work, and there’s no fixing it.

gpu perfect say but i want to get a pc with order hardware(older oses) so the gpu in question is an geforce 8600 gt 256 MB and the chip Looks off pwr say but can anyone tell me if it works?

We don't have it, how could we tell you if it works? You tell us if it works. (It doesn't look good though)

Nobody can tell you that without having the GPU. Do you have the GPU or are you looking to buy it? If you have it, test it. If you are looking to buy it, don't. Find a better GPU.

Is replicing the chip a Worthy fix? as this gpu hold a special Space in my heart

You could do this by sourcing another 8600 gt to take the die from, but it is not a home soldering project, you need special tools to do a bga solder job like that. Places that can do that repair would also do it, but it costs usually well into the triple digits to get it done.

It's such an outdated card, it's really not worth the effort, even if you got a chip for free.

 

If it holds a special place, reassemble it and put it on a shelf as a display item.

Ok i guess ill Just get another one as a replacement
