hey guys, my question for you is "who do i ask to enquire about being a forum moderator?"

The reason i would like to know this is becuase i am very interested. I live in the uk so i can be on at times people in america cant. I absolutley love this site and would spend all of my time on here.

as for my pc , it isnt that good and i will be getting a graphics upgrade  very soon!

my budgit is not that high it , it is only £150 so if anyone can suggest a good graphics card for that it would be highly aprichiated!

my expertise is in coding anything from websites to aplications :)

thanks for your time!

From what I understand Slick picks the forum moderators. And Lake Dave said you will probably need to be an active member.

I would love to be a moderator, but I don't think I'm anywhere near the tech know how of the moderators here.

You can't ask to be a MOD I think you have to be selected if you are helpful enough and active enough they might consider you. i think the current MODs were selected by Linus and Slick because they know them and trust them.

Here's Slicks post on this

Hey everyone I just wanted to clear a few things up in this thread -

The Team -

Since the start of this forum back in January till now I have hand chosen every Moderator on my team and I would have to say I am proud of my team. We have evolved quite a bit since the start and have dealt with a massive array of different issues. Being a moderator of this team has resulted in likely more than what many of them signed up for but they seem to all be having an okay time so far! I ask quite a lot of my team and they seem to step up every time - I appreciate that a lot. There is an incredibly long list of qualities that I look for in new potential mods, and most of these qualities were extrapolated from my current moderators.

Recruiting new Moderators -

As I said above, I hand pick all of my Moderators. This means that direct applications or suggestions like this, while not ignored, will not directly result in a member becoming a Moderator. What I am more focusing on is taking suggestions of new recruits from my current Moderators. Also while someone may be considered it may take quite a while for me to get to them through my queue of recruitment. I like having only one new recruit at a time and I wait until I feel that they are fully integrated into the team before extending out another invitation to the team. While this may not result in the largest team ever I feel that it keeps our quality top notch.

This thread, the least bias poll ever -

There have been a few complains about this poll and its double yes answers but to be honest if it was the other way around that may have resulted in the thread being closed. This thread is an awesome and fun call out to a very appreciated member of our forums (I'm talking to you GoodBytes) and I would have hated to see a "No" answer because it would have just invited negativity to an otherwise very friendly topic!

I hope this clears a few things up in regards to the team, recruitment to the team, and this thread - Have a great day guys

This. I bet many would love to be a mod (myself included) and help out the forum, but the team needs to be the cream of the cream (as Linus would say). They will pick people out.
