My friend and I started his new build last night (made him plug his DP in by himself so I could watch him put it in the mobo first). The AIO doesn’t seem to have power I may be wrong but the rgb on the fans is working but the fans aren’t coming on and the pump itself or at least the lcd isn’t coming on. We can get to the bios screen but eventually the pc shuts off due to overheating. If anyone could offer a suggestion we would appreciate it. His AIO is the NZXT Kraken Elite 360 RGB.

Well, first have him recheck the cable connections, especially sata power cable connection from the Pump

We have checked the SATAS as well as trying a different SATA cable altogether, we have tried bypassing the rgb controller by plugging directly into the usb header. We have tried plugging the cpu fan cable into the cpu fan header and the cpu opt header as well. The only thing we haven’t done is removed the pump from the cpu as I’ve seen someone suggest loosening the mounting screws a little bit. We haven’t tried that because we figured that thermal paste and mounting wouldn’t create a power issue.

Can we have a pic of the setup maybe?

I really do think this either may be user error or an defect that originated from the factory, because I highly doubt that the AIO would just stop working out of nowhere while in the box or installed, you may want to check the power to the AIO (Likely SATA) and if your PSU is modular, to check if your SATA harness is installed into the socket all the way to assure that its making a solid connecting to the actual 5v and 12v rail, This is either a RMA situation or a dodgy plug or hell even SATA bus

If it helps anyone. We’re using an AM5 cpu and the mobo is the B650-A Gaming WiFi. We have the dc fan cord in the cpu fan header. We have the nzxt splitter plugged into a usb header on the bottom right of the board. We have the usb from the pump plugged into that splitter and the usb cable from the rgb controller is also in the splitter. We have the SATA from the pump and from the rgb controller plugged into SATA from the power supply. We have the pwm fan cables plugged into the three splitter for fan power as well and finally we have the rgb connectors in the rgb controller. Sorry for the big paragraph just trying to share all info

I don’t have one at the moment but I could send one later today after work

It very well may be user error but we did watch an installation video for this particular pump and followed step by step.

Let me know if you guys can see the pic I uploaded. The only thing missing I believe is the NZXT H9 Case and the Kraken Elite 360 RGB pump

Yeah, all looks good so far

Specifically the pump/cold plate part of the AIO and also whole motherboard hooked up too. As confident as you can be, a fresh pair of eyes always helps, i helped my friend build his computer and the 4+4 CPU power just completely slipped my mind, I could not figure why it wasnt booting until he said, "should there be something plugged in here?"

Okay thanks I’ll have my friend take a pic later and I’ll upload it for you guys

May be a dumb question but is it possible that the contact from the cooler and the cpu may effect power? I don’t see how it could since that’s just for temperature control but maybe?

I doubt it, it might be overheating as its not touching the cpu but that doesnt explain the LCD screen not lighting up

I’ll also have him take a pic of the bios info so you can see the error messages it’s showing. I went into the bios last night and it’s not showing AIO info at all as if it’s not even there

Unless a fan is actually running on one of the motherboard fan connectors, or the pump has a dummy PWM plug to send the RPM pulse signal (and it would need to be actually running), there is nothing for the BIOS to see.

Thank you for explaining that. I figured it was just a result of something being plugged in wrong but wasn’t sure.

If anyone has a recommendations to try or possibly a solution that would be great

From what I can see there is a SATA power connector for the RGB controller and a second one for the fans and pump.  They're both plugged in?

I also see at least one comment from someone who had one with a faulty connector, though they didn't mention which one, just that the pump didn't run.

Yeah there’s a SATA from the pump and there’s a SATA from the rgb controller both plugged in. Can you test the voltages with a meter on these cables? Maybe just stick the leads inside the plug?
