nope

400-450$ still a horrible buy

350$ and below would be acceptable

4070 consumes less power and its also newer

Im on the fence for whether i should i get a used 3080 for ~400-450 USD or a new 4070 for 500-550 USD. Im going to be using a 1080p monitor, but i might upgrade to a 1440p in the future, and im also going to be using a lot of rt. Ive heard that the 4070 and 3080 are pretty much equivalent, but i just want to know some more experienced people's opinions on this: is it worth it to spend the extra 50-100 bucks to have the peace of mind that the gpu iwll be all up to spec and more reliable, or should i snipe a good 3080 deal for less?

i'd probably just go with the 4070 so you have driver/product support for a longer period before nvidia stops selling consumer products and fades in server center obscurity like ibm and microsoft.

A 4070 outperforms a 3080, you'll likely get support in games/drivers for longer and you likely get a warranty with a new card.

new 4070

if the 3080 was more like 300-350$ then itd also be a valid choice but at 400-450$ its a pretty horrible buy when the 4070 has 2gb of extra vram and consumes alot less power

next tier up if you want a used gpu would be a 3090 which is around 600-650$ afaik, double the vram but consumes a ton of power
