Dear LTT Community,

I had for weeks now Problems with Fortnite constantly crashing (on DX11 and DX12), recently i found out to change ''SVID'' in Bios to Intel Failsafe Mode.. this kinda got it working now.

I wonder now, can anyone tell me how to properly configure my Bios so the System is running perfectly stable and giving its full perfomance?! (Besides enable XMP, what else is to do?)

OS: Windows 11 Pro Build 22631

MB: Asus ROG Z790-H Gaming Wifi

RAM: Corsair Dominator Titatnium 2x16GB 7200MT/s

CPU: Intel i9-14900k

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Super

Kind Regards

Philipp

Does the system run stable when using 'Optimized Defaults' ?
If so, it is likely the DDR5-7200 RAM and with XMP enabled.

The XMP frequency + timing is possibly too aggressive for the CPU to handle...you may need to dial the speed down.

What power supply (make and model) are you using?

Also, which CPU Cooler?

Why is the system so..."unbalanced' per-se.

i7-14900K with a GTX 1660 Super?

Dear LTT Community,

Additional Info:

PSU: bequiet! Straight Power 11 850W

Cooler: Alpenföhn Brocken 4 with Thermal Grizzly Kryo Sheet

The System itself was always running stable with Optimized Bios Settigs and XMP 1 enabled.

It only came thru my mind because Fortnite is having big issues, and Epic mentioning to turn SVID Behavior to '' Intel Fail Safe'', so i thought there might be other Settings too that needs to be changed. I Also disabled Asus Multi Core Enhancement and Intel Adaptive Boost Technology.

I was only wondering, if anyone here in the Forums has any recomendations for wether its good or bad to disable Multi Core Enhancement and Adaptive Boost Technology, and maybe there are some other tweaks iam missing.

The GPU will be switched to an RTX3060Ti in a few weeks...

Kind Regards

Philipp
