Would a 240hz 1080p monitor work with Ryzen 5 7600 integrated gpu?

So, long story short: I have a 240Hz monitor, and I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 5 7600 for my build. At the moment, I won't use the PC for gaming, just normal browsing and programming. So, my plan is to use the 7600's iGPU until I get a dedicated GPU in the future when I can.

However, I'm worried that since the iGPU in that cpu is so weak (even though it's fine for browsing, etc), it will be capped at 60hz. I've gotten so used to 144-240hz (even in desktop use) that it's a deal breaker if I'm forced to use 60hz. If it can display at least 144hz it's fine though.

I can't find any information on this online. Does anyone know? I do know that the Intel UHD 730 does support 240hz at 1080p, but that's a far superior iGPU than the one in the R5 7600.

Give me a minute and I can test this for you with a 4K 240Hz display.

What displayport version does your 1080p 240Hz display have? Ideally DP1.4.

Thank you, that would be helpful. It's a Zowie BenQ XL2540 (it's a few years old), according to this it has DP 1.2.

For what it's worth, I'm currently using it on 240hz 1080p just fine plugged into a 2019 Macbook Pro 🙂

So on my B650 Aorus Ultra mITX board, the R5 7600 is running 4K 240Hz on my Neo G8. I'd say you're more than capable of running 1080p 240Hz through DP1.2 then.

AMD don't seem to document it with their CPUs, but they have done in presentation slides.

The iGPU display controllers can drive HDMI 2.1 up to its maximum 48Gbps data rate, or it can drive a DisplayPort 2.0 output at up to the UHBR10 data rate (a feature not even found on NVIDIA’s forthcoming RTX 40 series cards).

Keep in mind these are the CPU specs though, motherboards may not use these features to their maximum.
