Hi.

What gpu should i upgrade to?

Amd or Nvidia?

I have a nvidia rtx3060 today and a intel i9 14900k.

I do not game a lot. Photo, video editing most and maybe i will also switch to linux and run windows in kvm for photoshop/lightroom classic.

Are amd drivers good in windows and linux today?

around 800-1000 dollars

I would honestly just get a 4080 super, if not 4070 ti super, RX 7900 XTX, 7900 XT or even 7900 GRE. Really depends, if you want ray tracing and AI capability.

Edit:

7900 (XTX/XT/GRE) I would go for the Merc:

For 4070 ti super/4080 super, I would get ventus x2 if you don't care about low temps or overclocking, ventus x3, Asus TUF, GAMING X SLIM:

I think, like a couple people above, the 7900xtx would work best. If you want to go on the cheaper side, the 7900gre/7900xt would work, and if you do ai or ray tracing go with the 4080s, or 4070ti super if you want to stay budget minded and go with Nvidia.
