any way to fix this?

like it still does something,  but barely,  makes scrolling / using most websites basically impossible.  started a few days ago but got gradually worse, now as said its barely usable anymore, just wondering if it's fixable, maybe with contact spray?

How broken are we talking about?

I had a mouse that would jitter the scroll when I used the scrollwheel, but the jitter was so consistent I adapted to the way it worked.

For example if I'd scroll 6 times downward, it would scroll 4 times down and 2 times up, not necessarily in that exact order. (but in pretty consistent order too)

If you do catch the curiosity to disassemble a logitech mouse, I probably won't have to tell you that there's wires that may connect either sides of the mouse that come off of each other,

also some Logitech mice have screws under the rubber pads, and those are held there by glue, so you'll either lose the pads or need glue to put it back (unless the glue that's already on is strong enough)

also if you go that route, there's a certain chance of a YouTube tutorial that disassembles the exact Logitech mouse model, if not there should be handful of other Logitech mice dissasemblies.

hmm i see, yeah i guess i could just try contact spray first.

well and the wheel is really mostly unresponsive now and when it responds its just random up and down movements,  its really hardly usable anymore  - currently using a logitech m185 thats much older, cheaper and works flawlessly... its just i need at least another mouse for my laptop,  guess I'll just try to "repair" the b170, otherwise bite the bullet and buy another m185.
