I think this is a pretty common issue, so Im hoping anyone has a fix.
I have a pretty good PC and over 270mbits Lan.
Even though I have a great setup, after ~5 youtube videos in the same tab, doesnt matter if I press on the YouTube homescreen or click one one Video after another. It always starts lagging, 6th video is kinda fine, after a few seconds, but after that it really lags and needs 10 seconds to load.
But, if i open a second tab in the same window, everything works fine again, even if I copy the lagging video form the first tab to the newly opened one.
Im guessing is has something to do with the cache or ram? I could be rong and Im definetly open to ideas how to fix it.

Which browser? Sounds like it has some kind of memory leak. Try a different browser, see if it also happens there (or update the browser in case it isn't up-to-date).

Don't post your pc specs or anything.  Anyways YT recently transitioned to the AV1 codec, so if you don't have a nvidia 3000/4000 OR a AMD 6600+ your gpu doesn't know how to handle it, and it's offloaded to your CPU.  I can't speak for intel Ark, who cares.  My guess is when you get all those tabs open and videos playing your CPU goes to the maximum, lagging your PC.

If it was a CPU issue, switching to a new tab wouldn't fix it. It sounds more like tabs aren't properly cleaning up resources, causing them to slow down after a while. Depending on the browser, a new tab will run in a new process.

But yeah, OP should really post their specs. "Great setup" could mean anything. It probably wouldn't hurt to check task manager and have a look at the browser's memory usage when things slow down.

OK so I opened my yt again to get it to lag again
I looked at the task-manager while I did so.

RAM had no spikes whatsoever
my CPU idled at 35% with some minor spikes up to 45% at random
my GPU couldnt care less it never got over 30 percent until i took a 4k HDR vid, then it had some small spikes too.
My internet never went above 100MBps
So it doesnt seem like a spec issue to me but maybe someone know sth i dont

I'm glad you're smarter here then everybody else.  But look here I'm not having any PC problems.  Next time don't post stuff that you don't know, again it was just a THEORY since he didn't post his pc specs.  But apparently this forum is flooded with people like you who just go in behind someone else's post to contradict it and say stupid stuff.

If you see no significant increase in resource use when the slowdown happens, it's either a bug in YouTube's code, a bug in the browser or a browser plugin. If you have any plugins, try again without them. It would probably also be a good idea to crosscheck with a different browser.
