I'm upgrading an AM4 build from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and need to do a BIOS update to my MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. My question is if I should just use the latest release of the BIOS or if there is a reason to use an older release.

Latest non BETA version will do the job 🙂

The latest BIOS is the one that supports Ryzen 5000 on this motherboard in fact.

Thanks! That's what I thought but didn't want to screw it up if that wasn't the case.

You'll be fine 🙂  Use the 3600 to update the BIOS and you are good to go!.

Good luck! And welcome to the Forum 😄
