Hey, it's been a while that every so often I lose internet for like 30sec to 3-4 minutes, I'm not sure exactly when it happens but I noticed that a lot of the times it happens when I start something like a youtube video.

So now I have a cmd pinging 8.8.8.8 all the time, when it get timeouts my youtube video stops, but I can still go on websites (way slower), play games and be on a discord call for like 10-15 seconds before I lose internet.

Also, I changed my router recently for a better one and it happened for the first time a few day after that. But I'm the only one having this problem (we are 4 living here)

How could I troubleshoot it and what could cause that ?

Thanks a lot !

I'm guessing you're on wifi?

Last time I had such an issue, it's because my device couldn't handle the channel changing automatically randomly when there's interference.

When you go in your router, do you have a specific channel set up or is the channel set on "auto" or something similar to that?

Set it to a specific channel instead of auto.

This setting entirely depends on your router, shouldn't be too different, change the channel from Auto to something else

Another setting is the one that links 2.4Ghz with 5Ghz if you have that. That one bugs out as well on some devices. Disable it and set a separate SSID for the two. Just connect to the 5Ghz band.

That said, this is all if you're on wifi like I assumed. Could also just be the wifi card in the computer that's bugging out.

If you're wired... Could be a driver issue. Or even a cable issue.

I've been able to change that setting, for me it was called "WLAN Steering" but I still got that problem and had to disconnect and reconnect from my WiFi for it to work again.

It was worth the try tho thank you ! If anyone got another idea I can try or a way to find the cause of the problem I would gladly take it
