Why get Noctua when you get the better looking and better performing GT's?

nope ^^ very high rpm, question is how the perform at lower rpm's, noctua performs amazingly at 600 and even below. and they also have the same airflow at 1200 as the gt's have at 1800, meaning noctua is better :) oh and they are more silent since they can run at slower speeds :P

Edit: also Noctua now have black/gray fans

Look at the videos I edited in. Scythe GT's win at everything. Besides, RPM isn't everything. I don't care if you compare a fan that runs at 2RPM but produced 56 dba of noise vs. a 9000RPM fan that produces 40 dba of noise, that 9000RPM fan is STILL better.

noise and RPM means nothing, airflow does, and Noctua gives the same airflow at lower rpm, and even at much lower RPM which = silence, my noctuas dont run over 50% speed at 100% load :P

and to your example, of the 2 rpm fans moves more air then no the 9000rpm fan is worse, as you never run fans at 100% unless you dont care for them to be silent, which is why a 100% speed sound test is a bad way to do a test, set a target temp and see how fast the fan gets to keep it, thats whats important, now GT's are good, but anything that runs at such high rpms i dont trust, also build quality of noctuas are better :)

Edit and final line: The fan that does the best airflow and the lowest rpm wins :) no matter which fan that is.

The GT's moves the same amount of air at a lower noise volume and voltage.

Are you daft?

Noise to airflow means everything, the Gentle Typhoons are pushing MORE AIR through the radiator with LESS NOISE

I tested them side by side in my own PC, gentle typhoons are quieter and move more air.

RPM doesn't mean anything, the only thing that matters when looking at fan tests/specs is:

How much air they move through the radiator: (AKA : FPM)

How loud they are

We aren't talking about CFM, we're talking about the amount of air that reaches the other side of the radiator.

Also, if you're going off manufacturer specs, 90% of those companies lie about specs, or have their own special tests that nobody else uses.

If they're $11 cheaper, get them. That's a good price for a good fan.

Yeah that's what I meant by manufacturers lie about their specs, it shows a chart of "Rated noise level" and "Actual noise level"
