Other details hey so I’m about to start building my pc today and I’m just unsure about how I should update my bios , for context I’m putting a 14700k in a msi z790 edge WiFi board and just want to know can I leave the flash bios till the end once everything is assembled and in the case or do I need to do it before putting the cpu in?

Your mobo seems to support 14th gen CPUs out of the box, at least according to the product page. It doesn't seem to support BIOS updates without a CPU installed though.

I'd recommend you build your computer and then, when it works, you can update the BIOS, if that is even necessary.

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end, also I like to edit my posts a lot.

@Average Nerd it does support BIOS updates without a CPU installed

There is a Bios Flash Button on the backplate, so you're fine either way

"(No need to install CPU and memory)"
