So I'm new to pc building and just built my first one yesterday and my idle Temps seem to be high. I'm using a Ryzen 7 7800x3d and seem to be idling at 55c-60c most of the time. It sometimes sits around 40c-50c. Is this normal or should I be concerned also under load I get up to 80c.

Edit: Temps seem to be at 40-45c now for idle but not going up much when gaming. Highest I've seen is 55c if im not playing cyberpunk. But when playing cyberpunk it's around 60-65c

What cooler are you running, what case are you using, what is your fan setup in said case, and what is the ambient temperature. With a decent dual tower cooler and a ~20C ambient, I'd expect the idle temp to be ~40-50C, the game temp to be mid 60s, and the hottest it'll ever get to be ~80C in something like Cinebench. If your

I'm using a Asus Ryujin iii 360 for the cooler. A msi Gungnir 300r Airflow, the stock fan set up in the case, 3 intake with 1 exhaust and the radiator is set to exhaust because that's what I've seen everyone say to do. Ambient temperature is 24c. When I did a Cinebench run it hit 79c as the hottest and that's normal what it sits at when gaming.

Seems normal to me. Note that you simply not doing anything on the PC for a few seconds and true idle are two different things. When saying "idle", take note of CPU activity and unless its sitting in the 1-3% range, its not idling.

That being said, your load temps seems fine so I don't see an issue. Even small actions like opening a window is going to spike temperatures briefly but that's normal and expected. Simply don't focus on Idle temps unless the chip is not performing as it should under a true load.

Load temps are gaming or synthetic load?   80c gaming is too high for a 7800X3D.  Did you PBO/CO at all?
