Looking for a switch

Go to solution Solved by tharvey,

I want to get a switch because my router doesn't have enough ethernet-ports for all my devices in my home theatre.

I currently have 5 devices with ethernet-ports in my home theatre and I'll probably add 2 more in the future, I also have 2 devices connected to my router that are not in my home theatre. My current router is a Linksys EA4500 so I'll need a switch with at least 7 ports.

I'd like to keep the switch under 50€ and I've been looking at the Linksys SE2800, would this be a good choice?

Just go on ebay and get one bussiness sellers do them so cheap it's a crime.

I got a 10/100 24 port enterprise grade switch for £30($50) a couple years ago.

I think a 8 port will be a lot less than that and it's not like these things go wrong.

Infact http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-SG108-1000Mbps-Desktop-Gigabit/dp/B00A121WN6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1400771361&sr=8-4&keywords=gigabit+switch

looks to be a good deal as there is no such this as performance on these there all the same so why pay more for overpriced netgear!

I use a TP-Link TL-SG1016, which is a 16-Port GbE Switch with decent (32Gbps) swiching capacity.
However, because it is around 60-80$ i would recommend the TL-SG1008D, which is its 8-Port Desktop equivalent (16Gbps switching capacity) and only 20-30$. Both also feature some powersaving-stuff.
