New folder option disappeared

Hi, I have not installed any programs other than firefox or changed the folder options in any way on my computer and i now can only create new zipped folders, the option to create a regular folder has dissappeared completly. I have tried many diffrent options to correct it and none of them seem to work. I am using windows 7 home premium. Any ideas?

The registry keys probably damaged.

Did your access level accidentally get downgrade to "Guest" or "User"? Administrators are the only ones that can create folders, if I recall. (Check in Control Panel under User Accounts)

I tried all though suggestions, but it still didnt work i also tried the microsoft fix it tool and that eliminated the program causing the zipped problem in the registry however, the regular folder option still has not reappared.
