Modded Minecraft is popular with memory leak and kept filling up till it breaks.

16gig is kinda weak against 24gig ram for me.

For me is playing like 3/more hours till ram is max had to restart Minecraft or my system freezes because no ram space available.

(3 hours if you are exploring and rendering new chunks fastest way to fill up ram)

Its same issue as dedicated server.

Some packs works better than other packs it's kinda hit and miss.

Id suspect either mobo rams gpu or storage, mainly the former 2 as they tend to be the most error/failiure prone in a system

Try plugging his ssd into one of the working systems with no bsod issues and see if it still bsods, if no bsods storage is not the problem

after that swap his rams in and keep his drive on that same system and see if it bsods both docp/xmp on and off, if no bsods rams arent the issue

then you can swap his gpu in and see if it bsods, if no bsods gpu isnt at fault

that leaves the mobo which is probably being pissy for no reason so yea replace it

We ended up swapping motherboards today after he went to a local microcenter and picking up one and no issues since swapping. Been about 10hrs without a bsod when before couldn't go more than a few minutes.

Alright, need some help.

Built my buddy a system in 2021 and have had zero issues with it until now. I recently started hosting a Modded Minecraft server (FTBOne, also tested with All the Mods 9 which uses similar mods) on my unraid box and now he get BSOD, only when playing.

System Specs:

Ryzen 5 5600x (Stock, default PBO settings)

Asus B550 Tuf (Latest BIOS as of about a month ago)

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16gb 3200mhz (Tried with both DOCP enabled and disabled)

EVGA 2070 Super

Steps we've tried:

Updated BIOS

Updated Chipset drivers

Memory Diagnostic tests (NO errors detected)

SMART tests with CrystaldiskInfo on SSDs

Full nuke of Windows

Stress Test on CPU and Memory with Aida64 for 2hrs (rock solid with temps in the low 50s)

With the full nuke of windows, After install, we installed WIFI drivers, Chipset drivers, and GPU Drivers; got BSODs within 30 minutes. He has zero issues with other games such as CS2, Rocket League, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.. so it appears to be related to Modded Minecraft. Regular unmodded runs without issue or BSOD's. My Wife, his Girlfriend, and I all have zero issues. We all run the same Shader Packs and I have tested using his preferred resource/texture pack without issue myself.

Attached are 3 dumps from the 3 BSOD's he's had since we reinstalled windows this morning.

We've been trying to fix it now for about 3 or 4 weeks with no success so hopefully you all will have some more insight or ideas.

EDIT: We are not physically local to each other so swapping hardware etc is not viable.

After continuous random BSODs with no correlation or link between, decided to do a motherboard swap. He just completed it about 30 minutes ago and now to test and make sure it works and doesn't BSOD in Minecraft going forward.

Fingers Crossed.

welp my suspicions confirmed

If its some completely random issue that isnt related to rams storage or the gpu its almost always gonna be the mobo cause thats the #1 most failiure and error prone part in a build
