Getting ready for first build

Budget (including currency): $2,000 USD max

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Ideally would like to play BG3 high setting and Minecraft with some shaders.

Other details: Saving up right now, may use part of tax return to buy parts. no plans on streaming, not looking for any thing super high end just good enough to game during limited free time. with the AMD Ryzen 7 8700G I was going to hold of on dedicated GPU for now and by down the road.

When will you actually save up 2000$?

Apus are not worth your money simply because a cheaper cpu and a used rx 570/580 4gb/8gb for the 30-40$ or ~50$ they go for will crush the apus igpu

If you want an apu then you better not be lazy with tuning your ram cause they benifit alot with high freq ram, current ram freq record on a ryzen apu (ambient) is 10600 and the higher the freq the better for the igpu so id suspect 9000-10000 to be where youd wanna run your rams at, doable with a cheap tforce 5600c46 a die kit or whatever 6400c32+ bin kit if you dont wanna tune now

Also theyll perform worse than the cpus because of the halved l3 cache since the 8700g has 16mb whilst the 7700(x) has 32mb then theres the 7800x3d with 96mb

If you wanna save up for a gpu you are better off buying a stopgap gpu like the aformentioned used rx 570/580 and pairing that with a 7800x3d

Appreciate the all white options. Any fans that aren't liquid cooled you recommend. Doing any water cooling scares me a bit for my first build.
