RX7600 makes not much sense so does the 4060 and to some extend the 3060Ti as for all of theme you dont get more VRAM and the performance difference is not that big compared to your 6600. maybe the best Option is a 6700XT/6750XT which can be found as low as about 300 € (seen a few on sale for about 300 but a lot of them go for around 350) here in Germany. Or maybe a RX7700XT. much higher than that and you run into a severe bottleneck with your CPU...

on another hand, what psu do you have?

From the 6600, I'd say the minimum for an upgrade to make sense, would be a 6800 or6800xt/7800xt. Anything slower wouldn't be enough to justify the upgrade my opinion.  That's also about the fastest GPU that could reasonably go with a 5500.  My friend uses aa 6800xt with his 8700k, which is a little slower than the 5500 and it works well together.

I edit the shit out of my posts.  Refresh before you respond.

thanks for the response! i have a rm650 from corsair the modular version, but is the 6700xt for example a ''good enough'' purchase over the 6600 performance wise or is upping the budget abit more wiser?

Thank you for responding, yeah im looking around and thinking the same thing about spending alittle more to get a bigger difference over the rx6600. looking at a rx6800xt but they are so expensive here new 😅 your friends cpu is borderline bottlenecking a 6800xt or its fine?

For hm it’s great.  He does play t 1440p, but his 8700k is slower than your 5500.  It also entirely depends on the game.

Look on eBay.  A 3080 would be a good deal to if it’s about the same or less.
