Ethernet cable damaged?

r_e_xX

Hi, last week I was putting my ethernet cable inside wall and I accidently placed my ladder on it and when i walked off, i saw it was flattend (but I gently fixed it’s shape). It didnt look serious and It was the last part of my 2hours work so I just continued. Internet works fine in terms of performance, just like it used to.

However I was wondering if this kind of damage could be having some impact on performance? Or if it works and I dont notice any issues that werent present before (ping and loss spikes like once/twice a day, but its due to provider), then it’s nothing to be worried about?

Maybe if you try to run 10 gigabit Ethernet over it.

For a Gigabit or 2.5 gig connection in a residential setting, it should be fine.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
