How do I back up a DVD to Windows?

Go to solution Solved by Zando_,

5.25" drive and MakeMKV. I dunno how to parse the file system on DVDs either, I just pull the large files as those will be the video ones, the menu stuff is in the megabytes not gigabytes.

If you want to do UHD Blu-Rays as well, then you have to pick drives more carefully: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19634. I believe regular DVDs are fine with any old DVD drive.

I wanted to back up my old movies but I dont know how, soo I am asking here :p.

Also the file system is absolute gibberish to me so don't expect greatness from me there

I am NOT a professional and I write before I think, so REFRESH THE PAGE!!!  Theres a 99% chance I've edited my post.

Also: Please enable XMP/D.O.H.C before asking why your ram is too slow.

There are also USB Drives that work for DVD And Blu Ray as well.  (IDK About UHD Tho, I haven't looked into it)

Just check on MakeMKV Forums to find compatible USB Drives
