I just finished my new build, and I am seeing some strange behavior with my RTX 4070 FE. My monitor is only 60Hz and uses HDMI exclusively, so that’s what I’m using for now. When I uncap the framerate to higher than 60FPS in games, it makes this high pitched coil whine. Is the card defective? Should I return it? Is my monitor damaging the card? My monitor tears on the higher refresh rates too, it’s a POS. Userbenchmark did claim the card was underperforming slightly, but I don’t entirely agree with the way they measure those statistics. Also I am using the dual 8 pin PCIE to 12VHPWR, maybe that could have something to do with it? I’m probably just overly paranoid, but if someone could advise that would be great.

From what I've heard, that's just one of the issues with these new FE cards, not much to do about it unfortunately. It is normally harmless to the card, its just a noise. So no, it is not defective unless it is very severe.

Enable vsync, its because the gpu's frames are not synced with the monitor's.

Could be down to margin of error, or a slight bottleneck in your system.

Console.WriteLine("Hello World!");
