Hi just watched this video 

This is a very new concept for me so I just have some dumb questions. Does this completely replace an isp or do I still need to pay a xfinity or AT&T or any other wifi company for wifi still? 
any tips would help me out thanks

No idea whether you're asking about a piece of equipment that your ISP put in your house or ISP service in general.

 

If it's the former :

First you need to know the difference between Modem & Router

If it's the latter :

No, this doesn't give you free internet.

Atleast not unless you connect your neighbor's internet to it.
