The 3050 will average 62 fps on 1440p lowest settings on Microsoft flight sim.

i think im going to go with the 3050, i dont game a lot to begin with, and 62fps is ok for me, i was already on the edge about spending $300 and really wanted less, all the other cards are more than 300, i am also ok with downscaling to 1080p with medium settings to get a little more fps.

thanks guys!

Hello,

I have a PC I built almost 2 years ago during the chip shortage. at the time, I had planned to use an rx570 temporarily until I could get a better card for a good price (without paying a markup), I never had a chance to do that, and still have the rx570 in my pc, but I think I'm now ready for an upgrade. my budget is $300 (although i would prefer not to spend that much, im ok with playing flight sim at 100fps only at mid graphic settings) and I plan to play Microsoft flight sim and mainly Fortnite at 1440p, 165hz on a 32 inch monitor. any recommendations, i haven't been keeping up with the new hardware since i built my computer and am clueless with the new hardware that came out recently.

thanks!

what about a 3050?

3050 is much slower than the other cards suggested, I would definitely avoid it.

$300 is an awkward budget, because they all suffer from issues (e.g. 4060 is very good on power, but only 8GB VRAM, less than the card it replaced!).

The 67x0 XT is the best performing option near to your budget and that gets you more than 8GB.

For 1440p in 2024, I'd really want a 6800 or 7700 XT (or better), the 3060 is a 1080p card.

Arc A770, you can get some of the 16gb ones for $300 or the 8gb ones for $260. Which gets you a 3060ti tier card new.

But from reading your other input here, you don’t wanna spend $300 on a GPU. Which leaves me asking why you’d post a $300 budget to begin with.

Used GTX 1080. It’ll outperform the 3050 slightly and costs around $120-140 used on eBay.

i might have spent $300 for a 40 series card, but if its only a 30 series i would not wanna spend more than $300 on it, im not so familiar with the arc A770, not something i wanna experiment with. and the 1080 is already an old card, plus i dont want something used, i would rather spend the little extra for a new one.

actually a 4060 is $300? should i get that?

The best suggestion was the RX6750XT , 3050 is to be quite honest a garbage tier product.

It's about 30% faster than your RX580 whilst the RX6750XT is about 2.5 times faster.
