R9 280x not working

I am trying to upgrade my gtx 550 ti to an r9 280x toxic. Before removing the 550 ti, I went into the device manager and uninstalled the drivers. I then removed the 550 ti and installed the new 280x in my system. It didn't boot with the 280x and I thought it was because I haven't installed the AMD drivers yet. I booted with the integrated graphics on my CPU and went to AMD's website. I downloaded the driver and when it was complete I got this message:

I clicked view log and this window popped up.

On the driver installer window it said that the installation was complete so I rebooted my computer and tried booting it from the PCIe and it still boots from the integrated GPU on my CPU. I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

 

My system specs are:

Motherboard: ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Professional-M

CPU: I5-2500k

Power supply: Rosewill bronze 1000w

Old GPU: ASUS gtx 550 ti

New GPU: Sapphire R9 280x.

I would say its a corrupt driver from nvidia a mate of me had the same problem. when he switched from a 680 to a 780 ti and then to a r9 290.

So you may have to reformat.

Deactivate the IGP on the bios.

Do you mean disable the IGPU? I don't know how to disable the IGPU in the bios. I can only find an option between booting between the onboard GPU and the PCIe. I selected the PCIe so does it matter if the IGPU is disabled? I don't really want to reformat the drive but if nothing else works I will.

Is under OC Tweaker any option for IGPU?

It just lets you change the voltage of the IGPU and the load-line calibration (I have no idea what this is so I just leave it on auto).
