It's personal preference, really. Some people like mechanical, while others like membrane. If possible, you should go to a store and try mechs out.

In my opinion absolutely yes.

As @WunderWuffle stated, it really is personal preference.

 

For me I find mechanical keyboards more comfortable overall. When I first switched to mechanical keyboards I didn't notice too much of a difference outside of I did increase a little more in WPM after I got use to it. But after that weekend I came into work and started using this dell membrane keyboard and I instantly noticed the difference. My Ducky at home is easier to press, my fingers do not get tired at all (Using Blue Switches), I do occasionally miss keys on the membrane keyboard, just stuff like this.

 

I think I may have been more drastically affected by going back to membrane than I was going to mechanical. That's just my personal story.
