iPhone 15 uneven microphone mesh/grille. IDEAS/HELP?

I don’t understand how this could be a thing but I completely accidentally noticed that one of the holes of the microphone at the bottom has a slightly taller mesh than the rest. All of the holes, microphone and speaker, seem to be on the same level but one of the three microphone holes is raised.

So, is the mesh underneath one big mesh and the holes reveal a little part of it, or do all holes have their own small circular meshes?

A picture is kind of pointless since it’s virtually impossible to exactly show you. I can notice it only at an angle. But I did gently check each one with a blunt toothpick and the raised one is the only one that has slight wobble, the rest are fixed tight like airpods mesh sort of.

I’d appreciate if anyone could check or give me ideas what’s going on.

???

I would advise you to just leave it be.  You risk breaking things by "fixing" it.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

At some point you may want to get this under control.

First the camera is uneven, now the mesh screen a millimeter wide is off kilter?

I suggest returning the phone and getting a new one that is built properly, or leave it and just enjoy it.  Not sure you can do that though.

But there is nothing to be done with it, it's a brand new phone.  You're going to make it worse 100% guarantee it, if you keep messing with it.

I know it's hard, and I sympathize.  But you need to let it alone.

I doubt uneven mesh is enough to warrant RMA

I dunno... apple customers have a reputation of being more demanding (they aren't so, but the prejudice is there).  The brand is built on being the image of perfection, so if you go in person to the store and make a big stink you might get a replacement.  But don't give them a dime to repair or replace it.  If they try and change you anything, walk away.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

They told me it’s within 1% of manufacturing error tolerance and doesn’t affect performance so they won’t return it.

regardless, I’ll just save up a bit, sell this, and buy the 15Pro. I should have gotten that one anyway.
