Hi everyone!
I'm from France so I'll convert every prices I use.

I'd like to build a computer for the first time. (I only have a laptop at the moment)
I have a budget of about $1300 - $1600 (but I would prefer the lowest ^^)
I spent the last week learning some tips on internet and I have made a first config :

Monitor : LG IPS237L-BN 23" : $230 (€180)

I don't know if it's a very good monitor but I like it...

But if you have any suggestions, feel free!

Processor : Intel Core i5 3570K : $290 (€219)
Motherboard : MSI - Z77A-G45 GAMING : $200 (€150)
Graphic Card : EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Superclocked - 2 Go : $240 (€185)
RAM : G.Skill - Extreme3 2 x 4 Go PC 17000 Ripjaws CAS11 : $90 (€71)

SSD : Corsair Force Series GS - 128 Go : $150 (€120)
HDD : WD Green 3,5" - SATA III 6 Gb/s - 2 To : $110 (€87)

Case : Corsair Carbide 300R : $90 (€72)

I don't know what I should buy for the power suply.

I have also an idea for the processor cooling (don't know if it's the way it's called)  :
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO : $40 (€31)

But I don't know the kind of fan I should use for the case cooling.

I already have a keyboard and a mouse (G110 & G400)

The total is about $1500 (€1160)

If you think I should change something or if I made a huge mistake, please tell me!

Edit :

Currently, I'll will go for :

Alimentation : Corsair CX Bronze - 500W : $75 (€58)

Headsink : Xigmatek Dark Knight SD-1283 - Night Hawk Edition : $50 (€40)

500w %80 bronze certification will be enough and you will have 100w for overclocking  (i calculated using OCed 3570k to 4.3ghz with 1.2v)

for fans ive heard a lot about corsair's sp120 quiet editions but i never had a chance to get them or you can use noctua's fans they both make pretty beast fans

I'm not a big fan of the Cooler Master 212 Evo, oh they're called heatsinks btw

The 212 Evo (when installed) can swivel and rotate a fair bit.

So when the thermal paste dries and it becomes hard, if you accidentally bump the heatsink it twist and therefore crack and break away the thermal compound underneath creating spaces of air, thus making your CPU overheat and die.

(This is all worst case scenario stuff lol)

But yer.. i'm using one temporarily while i get all the parts for my custom water cooling loop.

May i suggest a slightly more expensive one that performs a bit better, it will also give you a bit more overclocking room as well.

should be similar price to the 212 evo and it looks cool :D

Ok thanks for the advice, I was not sure that a 500W would be enough.

I think i'll go for the Corsair CX Bronze - 500W (about 75$ and it seems to be a good one)

And I will check the fans you mentionned.

Wow! I would never imagine something like that could happen ^^

But I'll certainly avoid the 212 EVO and take the one you mentionned that really looks better!

What I would say is, get a modular powersupply. Looking at your budget, wow, for that kind of money you could just buy anything you want!

(If you want a nice and clean build with low effort, the AX or AXi series from Corsair provide sleeved cables for these series, if you want low price, the CX750M will most likely suit all your needs.)

Okay let's see.

Monitor:  LG IPS237L-BN 23

LG IPS237L-BN 23 you say? I recommend you'd take a look at this one. I use the 27" model and it will blow your mind. Just looks amazing, also the design of the monitor itself. Funny enough I was planning to buy the LG IPS277L-BN 27... Don't regret that I've chosen the Asus MX279H.

http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/MX239H/

Processor : Intel Core i5 3570K : $290 (€219)

Nothing to complain about this one.

Motherboard : MSI - Z77A-G45 GAMING : $200 (€150)

I'd say, just a few bucks more (relatively spoken) and you could have your hands on the Asus MAXIMUS V FORMULA.

Graphic Card : EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost Superclocked - 2 Go : $240 (€185)

Depending on your needs, most likely it will suit your needs just fine as this is your first PC. And than again, this is so easy to upgrade.  ;)

RAM : G.Skill - Extreme3 2 x 4 Go PC 17000 Ripjaws CAS11 : $90 (€71)
Corsair Vengeance RED 1866 MHz would be my choice.

Also Corsair is amazing in RMA support!

SSD : Corsair Force Series GS - 128 Go : $150 (€120)

I thought the 840 PRO (Samsung) or the Vector (OCZ) aren't much higher in price and those are in my understanding the kings of the SSD's.

HDD : WD Green 3,5" - SATA III 6 Gb/s - 2 To : $110 (€87)
Will be just fine, if you really go for performance the Black series from WD are the highest performing.

Case : Corsair Carbide 300R : $90 (€72)

Totally up to you!

Looks like a very good case but it's for mini-ATX...

If I buy all these, that's about $400 more :o

That's funny because the MX279HD was my first choice (seen on the linus youtube chanel) but then I came to a more reasonnable price. But if you say it worth it I will maybe go for it.

I will not take the MAXIMUS V FORMULA. It's too expensive!

I will certainly go for the Vengeance RED 1866 MHz if you think it could be better.

Same thing for the SSD. The two you mentionned have the same price. What would you prefer?

For the HHD, I know the black is better for performances, but I could certainly upgrade one day and keep the Caviar Green for storage.

Defenitely funny! I saw the LG monitor in a store and black on white compared to the MX279H the MX279H looks more solid.

Maybe not noticable better than what you had in mind, I just love Corsair and these ones stood out. About the two SSD's, I don't think it gets much better than these two, I'd say just get the one where you get most warranty. Samsung gave me five years if I recall correctly. About the HDD, I don't think it will be very noticable. If I copy a file from my SSD to HDD I get about 90 MB/s write speed using the Black series.

I'd personally go with 1600MHz RAM if you could save some money on that. Not a noticeable difference imo. Depends on where you live and what offers your stores have.

Otherwise it looks like a good first build. Moving from a laptop to a desktop is going to blow your mind.

Is gaming the thing you're gonna use the PC for? In that case the 650 Ti Boost runs very well in SLI, so you could perhaps upgrade to that in the future for a very reasonable price. Reviewers here in Norway tested it and the 650 Ti Boost in SLI performed almost as well FPS-wise as a stock Titan.

Current build: Antec P180, Asus P8Z68 Pro, Intel i5-2500k, Asus GTX 570 2GB, Patriot 16GB 1600MHz, Corsair HX 650W.
