Annoying "Buzz" sounds

Go to solution Solved by Helepolis,

Sounds like something is loose, coil whine is more screechy like than a buzz from my experiences. Check you're fans(screws tightend, wires not leaning against anything they shouldn't). Check your Rad (tighten if you have one), Side panel (tighten) . Check your PCI(e) cards(tighten).

its been about a month since i have had my newly built computer and so far, everything is going to good with it, but there is a little(if not big) problem that is concerning me. there is this weird buzzing sound i keep hearing coming from the casing.. when the computer is off there is no sound at all, but when it is on idle or under some kind of work load the buzzing come right back.

i tried everything i could think of; disconnecting everything and reconnecting it again, checking the power supply connections and everything that (i think) has to do with the buzzing...

any suggestions!

Could be:

- coil whine

- bad fan bearings - in some cases the fan blades could be hitting against the frame or dust, etc, in the fan.

- wiring (or other object) touching a fan's blades

Best way to find out is to take the side panel off and run the computer. You can then try to localize the issue. Putting a piece of tubing or a paper towel type roll against your ear (a poor man's stethoscope) can help with this.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.
