Z97 motherboard with fastest bios time

Go to solution Solved by FTW_Perverse,

Picking a MOBO based on boot speed alone is not the right perspective.  If you have a decent SSD and change your BIOS settings for minimal POST delay, that's all you should be concerned with.  Plus what you are experiencing right now is older generation performance.  Any recent generation boot time I think you'll find acceptable.

Hello! I'm going to buy a new Z97 motherboard when the 4690k comes out but I'm confused with which to buy. I currently have an Asus maximus formula III with an i7-870k but the bios time is super slow... loading windows goes faster :(

Now I'm looking to get the fastest boot time possible, with the fastest bios paired with an SSD, I've searched a bit and found that Gigabyte have something called ultra fast boot, Asrock also have something similar but which is the fastest? or are they all about as fast?? my budget max is about 300$ or 2000kr (Sweden is expensive)

They're all about the same nowadays. Just go with whichever fits your needs (from ASUS, Gigabyte, ASRock or MSI) and matches the rest of your build

I budget build well. Want to learn? PM me if you want advice.

Motherboards all get through the BIOS in around the same amount of time now, and they have pretty much no impact on system boot speed.

Thanks guys, guess I'll just have to choose one that looks good and has sata express then. Do u have any other tips on how to further speed up boot time? I have an Samsung 840 evo 256GB drive which will be the boot drive, and windows 7 will probably be my os.

Just set it to "Fast Boot" or whatever the particular bios calls it, and you are good to go.
