I need help with my network

I honestly have no idea what i'm doing, and this doesn't make sense to me, so i'm trying to get help, I've done speed tests on both my PCs
Here is a PC on Wifi:

and here is a PC that I use to host game servers and that is directly plugged into the router:

Why is the connection on my server machine so bad? especially being plugged into the router directly, the Ethernet cable is good, it's Cat8 rated at 40GB.

Did you test the other PC to make sure you're also getting the same speeds as the game server PC?

 

it depends is your router "ports" configurable? There could be a limit on them and you simply don't know and you have to configure the ports on them to reach max speed.

The length can also slow down the speed a bit, though I'm not sure how long your cable is. But it's a possibility.

also what is your router/modem brand?

The cable is 10ft, and the router I have is: "ASUS RT-AX82U (AX5400) Dual Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router"
and there are two screen shots in the post, the one with the higher download speed is the one on WiFi.

have you tried configuring the Router? Perhaps you have QOS ( quality of service ) on which can hampered your wired speeds, try logging into the router and turning it off

I turned off QoS, it didn't change anything on the server PC, ping is still around 90. but on my main PC which is on WiFi, not not ethernet, the download speed got cut in half and the ping is 400 now.

I think there is a possible setting issue though i'm not entirely sure what because that QOS shouldn't have done done that and make the ping 400. Maybe you should reset the the router to default settings but keep track of of the current Wireless name, IP address of the router ( it's probably gonna reset to 192.168.1.1 possibly ) and Password so you can quickly implement it faster.

QOS issues seems likely. Is your PC plugged into the "gaming" port? And what prioritization mode do you have it on? The product page definitely suggests that your router does a lot of traffic prioritization by default.

If you do have a Cat 6a hanging around, give that a go. My experience with these "higher" standard cats has not been positive.
