hi i am new here.

currently i am using the Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 that i got in 2014. however as the years have passed and parts getting changed i feel there is less and less space.

i am currently looking for a very big and beefy mid tower or a very small full tower. most important for me are the dimensions that everything fit anything else i can probably make new holes add custom

my components are

- msi mag x570 tomahawk

- ryzen 5 3600x

- rtx 2070

- gtx 1060

- 64 gb ram

- 850w power supply

- ASUS BD-Reader/DVD-Writer BC-12D2HT

- 3 HDD

- 2 nvme SSD

the current dimensions of my case are

width 21.5 cm

depth 49.3 cm

height 42.6 cm

The limitation is going to be whether you still want an integrated DVD/CD reader. Most cases don't come with the 5.25" bay to mount those, so if you don't need it or are willing to use a USB DVD reader instead.

Otherwise, a great case that comes to mind with a set of 5.25" bays is the Fractal Design Pop. I have a specialty machine with an i5 12400 in that case, the micro ATX version, and it has a DVD reader in it because I could. The software I had to install came on a CD and I had a spare reader laying around, it was also a very economical case at the time.

Otherwise, the Fractal Design North with the mesh side panel is my case of choice. It can handle basically any hardware you could throw at it.

Overall, finding a modern case with 3x 3.5" HDD and a 5.25" bay might be hard, it would be worth considering going to 2x 3.5" HDDs if you can.

Honestly its really not that small of a case and unless you put a 4090 in it almost anything fits. It even fits 160mm coolers which means basically top end air coolers no sweat and anythinf but the widest of gpu's (that dont have a sideways power connector that needs and adapter first) will fit.

So honestly i'd not worry.

Else well there's not reallt a cases on the market anymore with a 5.25" bay and 3hhd slots. 3 hdd slots already is a tough ask on its own.

If you don't need the DVD writer then look at the Lian Li Lancool 216. Great case with plenty of room and easy to work with.

Fractal Design Pop

+1 on Pop although some DVD drives have issues with inadvertent eject activation when you put the front facia on. It is meant to be taken off if you installed a DVD drive in it but i personally find it stupid. Although, you can legit put them inside of the HDD cage like i did here, but when youre going this far you might as well accept the L and take another case. image.thumb.jpeg.204081dab3e6795964c0be10aab4e86e.jpeg
