PC Updates...

NannyPlumb_

Hey all,

was just wondering if Graphics drivers and windows 11 updates are the only updates I need to do for my Pc. Like am I missing crucial updates for my ram, cpu or motherboard???

Any help would be appreciated or clarity

Thanks.

typically the other system drivers for other hardware is updated regularly.

that being said you usually don't NEED to update the drivers for any hardware unless there is an issue related to that hardware. So effectively you can use an old driver as long as you want provided the updates do not address anything related to your use case.

most people seem to just update all drivers in the eventuality it will have something to do with a future use case.

Thanks.

RAM - only update the RGB software that controls it.  There is no RAM driver.

CPU - I advocate installing all of the Chipset drivers from the motherboard manufacturer site when building.  Then you're done.

Motherboard - Update the BIOS when needed, if it fixes something or improves something.  Like adding support for a new CPU you want, or how new BIOS's improve AM5 memory stability, etc.  Basically update your BIOS.

Otherwise keep Windows updated and your GPU software/drivers updated.
