2nd OS

GhostzzU

will a 2nd OS on a different SSD affect my main OS/gaming?
i  was planning on getting a separate SSD and download another OS on it just for school but wanted to know if it would affect my main/gaming OS in any way

No, generally not.

I'd recommend you back up any important data first, and pay close attention to which drive/partition you're installing the second OS on, so you don't accidentally overwrite your main OS.

Also, why do you want a dedicated OS just for school?

English is not my first language, so please excuse any confusion or misunderstandings on my end.

well that's just kinda wrido If I'm being honest. You can make folders you know, and you can stop/disable most background apps if not all of them really.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

if you're worried about that I would just do the easier route and just make a different windows account callled "gaming" and "work" that way you can avoid that.

A simple way to go about this would be to just make a folder where you put all the  school files, and you can disable autostart for most apps so they aren't running in the background. And task manager also exists.

That would be a lot less of a hassle and cheaper than buying a SSD and putting another OS on there.

I mean you can switch SSD to switch OS

Its what I'm doing actually just if you can't trust it.

However do keep in mind switching ssd can go wrong if you broke pins of ssd.

Like force it somehow.

Ive been switching them for 3 years and they are still kicking.

Keeps everything seperated and avoids school bullshit from happening.

I mean if you want jank life like me.

I'd say go ahead man.

And it seems hassle what these guys is saying too much work to check taskmanager and have smart pants on.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

Regardless of compatibility 🐧🖖
